Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, clicking “Sign up”, or otherwise accessing or using any part of the Privacy Conduit platform (“Service”) at privacyconduit.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.
If you are using Privacy Conduit on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms. In that case, “you” refers to that organisation.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time (see Section 15).
2. The service
Privacy Conduit provides two connected products on a single platform:
- For individuals (B2C): Discover which companies and employers hold your personal data, compose legally-cited privacy requests (deletion, access, correction, etc.) under applicable law, and send them directly from your own email address. Track responses and follow up — all from one dashboard.
- For organisations (B2B): Receive, verify, manage, and fulfil incoming data subject requests from customers and employees. Publish a branded Privacy Center. Track deadlines and generate compliance evidence.
Privacy Conduit operates across three jurisdictions from launch: India (DPDP Act 2023), European Union and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR), and United States — California (CCPA / CPRA). We may add further jurisdictions over time.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
3. Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@privacyconduit.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
One person or legal entity may not maintain more than one included account. Accounts are non-transferable.
4. Gmail and Google integration
Privacy Conduit optionally connects to your Google account via OAuth 2.0 to provide inbox scanning and direct email sending. When you authorise this connection, you grant Privacy Conduit permission to:
- Read sender domain metadata from your inbox to identify companies that may hold your data (
gmail.readonlyscope). - Send emails from your Gmail address to companies and employers on your behalf (
gmail.sendscope).
You remain the sender of record. Privacy laws in most jurisdictions require that requests come from the data subject's own address so companies can verify identity. Privacy Conduit sends from your address for this reason — not as a workaround.
You can revoke Gmail access at any time from your account settings or directly from your Google Account permissions page. Revocation immediately removes the stored OAuth token and stops all Gmail-based operations.
Our use of Gmail data is governed by the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See our Privacy Policy — Section 4 for the full disclosure.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use Privacy Conduit only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Submit false or misleading privacy requests, or impersonate another person to obtain their data.
- Use Privacy Conduit to harass, threaten, or send unsolicited or abusive communications to companies or individuals.
- Attempt to circumvent, reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape any part of the platform.
- Introduce malware, viruses, or any code designed to interfere with the Service.
- Access the platform through automated means (bots, scrapers) without our prior written consent.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
- Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
Violation of this section may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.
6. Not legal advice
Request templates and jurisdiction packs are provided for informational purposes only. Laws change, and individual circumstances vary. For advice specific to your situation, you should consult a qualified legal professional.
7. Intellectual property
Our IP. The Privacy Conduit platform, including all software, design, trademarks, jurisdiction packs, and content we create, is owned by or licensed to Privacy Conduit and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our IP except the limited licence to use the Service.
Your content. You retain full ownership of all content you create using Privacy Conduit — your privacy request text, replies, uploads, and employer information. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and transmit that content solely to provide the Service.
Feedback. If you submit ideas, suggestions, or feedback about Privacy Conduit, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable licence to use that feedback in any way without royalty obligation to you.
8. Third-party services
Privacy Conduit integrates with third-party services including Google (Gmail), Clerk (authentication), Anthropic (AI request drafting), and various infrastructure providers. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
Links to third-party websites or services from within Privacy Conduit do not constitute endorsement of those services.
9. Payment and plans
Privacy Conduit offers both included and paid plans. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual cycle. All fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or as otherwise stated in writing.
If payment fails, we will notify you and may downgrade or suspend your account until payment is resolved. We reserve the right to change plan pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Continued use after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance.
Indian customers: prices are inclusive of applicable GST. EU/UK customers: prices are exclusive of VAT where applicable.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or without errors; (b) request drafts will be legally effective in your specific circumstances; (c) companies will respond to your privacy requests; or (d) the Service will meet your requirements.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so the above may not apply to you in full.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL CONDUIT, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL — ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF: (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID CONDUIT IN THE 12 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ₹1,000 / US$12 / €12.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of liability for certain types of damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Privacy Conduit and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms; (b) your content; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.
13. Termination
By you. You may close your account at any time from account settings. On closure, we will delete your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy — Section 6.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, are engaged in fraud or abuse, or if required by law. We will not be liable to you for any termination carried out in good faith.
Upon termination, Sections 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, and 14 survive.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to binding arbitration in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with the seat of arbitration in Bengaluru, India, conducted in English.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek emergency injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction. Nothing in this section limits your consumer rights under mandatory local law. EU/UK users retain their statutory rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.
15. General provisions
Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Privacy Conduit regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.
Changes. We may update these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will give you at least 14 days' notice by email and in-app notice before the new terms take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
Force majeure. We will not be liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, war, cyberattacks, or internet outages.
